Description:
Artist grade linseed oil is a pale golden yellow colored oil that is extracted from the seeds of the Flax plant. This oil has been highly purified, but not processed by heat. Linseed oil can be used by itself; however, it is normally used in combination with other mediums and solvents. Linseed oil lowers viscosity of oil paint but does little to alter the "shortness" of tube oil paint. The oil does produce a tough, flexible paint film that is not likely to crack.
