USES: Plastex inks are high solids, water based inks that will stretch and retrace easily. They have excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates such as spandex, leather, lycra, cotton/poly blends, and porous nylons. Plastex inks are fully washable, and can be dry cleaned.
OPACITY: White is very opaque, colors are semi-opaque.
DRYING TIME: All moisture and water must be evaporated from cloth before drying/curing begins. Air-dries to touch in about 30 to 40 minutes and followed up with a hand ironing, but can take up to 30 days to reach full cure. Jet dries in about 90 seconds at 350° F.
SCREEN FABRIC: Use monofilament polyester 60-160 Mesh
SCREEN COATING, FILM, BLOCKOUT: Use water resistant emulsion, preferable with hardener.
MODIFIERS: Using Reducers in Plastex is not recommended as much of the opacity is lost. If necessary a little water may be added. Plastex Clear Base may be used to extend colors. Aqua Life Retarder may be used in amounts of 5-10%. In extreme cases, up to 30% may be used.
SQUEEGEE: Soft to medium in the 60 to 70 durometer range.
WASHUP: Use water to clean screens and tools, or biodegradable washups 2500, 2550 or 2510 screen wash gel for badly dried in screens.
