High-performance Silicone Screen Printing Inks



Silextreme™ Inks have a high degree of stretch and durability in the wash process. They have a low cure temperature making it ideal for 100% polyester performance fabrics, wetsuits, and sublimated polyester fabrics. Possesses superb adhesion and extreme elasticity, simply mix Silextreme™ base with the toner and add catalyst before printing. Silextreme™ Blacks and Whites are ready for use after adding catalyst. Other colors are achieved by adding toner to one of the bases, Matte Mixing Base preferred. All catalyzed color have a maximum pot life of 72 hours. Mixed colors with toner have a pot life up to one week before being catalyzed.

SPECIFICATIONS:

USES: For use on direct printed 100% polyester fabrics. Ideal for controlling dye migration on difficult, stretchy or any other nasty bleeding fabrics. Print, flash, print method is recommended. Add toners and catalyst to base for ready to print inks.

FINISH: Cures to a soft hand with great stretch and recover.

OPACITY: Excellent opacity.

DRYING TIME: SILC Series silicone inks will not air dry. They must be heat cured. SILC Series inks will fully cure and withstand repeated washings when the entire ink deposit reaches 270°F. Recommended dwell of 60-90 seconds in the heat chamber to reach 270°F. If flash is needed, flash for 6-10 seconds.

SCREEN FABRIC: Use coarse meshes, from 86 to 110 monofilament polyester; however up to 230 may be used.

SCREEN COATING, FILM, BLOCKOUT: Use standard emulsions or films and blockouts with this ink. A thick stencil is recommended for which capillary films work well.

MODIFIERS: SILC toners must be mixed in the recommended proportions with Matte Base. Once mixed without catalyst, they may be stored up to one week.

CATALYST: Mixed base and toner must be catalyzed with 3 to 5% SILC-9120 Catalyst. Catalyzed ink must be used within 72 hours. Mixed ink must be stored at 65- 95°F. Do not leave catalyzed ink in screen or on equipment over night.

SQUEEGEE: A 70 durometer squeegee at a 45 degree angle is recommended. For maximum deposit, 55/90/55 squeegee is recommended

WASHUP: Use biodegradable washup SYS-2500, SYS-2550 or SYS-2520 screen wash gel.
