KC-8204 Thinner #2

Description:

Kolorcure Thinner #2 is a low viscosity reactive diluent for use in viscosity reduction of Kolorcure UV curable screen inks and coatings Thinner #2 will help with good adhesion and film toughness.

While all KOLORCURE inks and coatings are supplied "ready to use," application conditions sometimes arise (i.e. very high speed screen printing) when viscosity reduction is desirable. Additions of up to 10 percent Kolorcure Thinner #2 can be employed.

When to use Kolorcure® Thinner

HIGH SPEED PRINTING: If poor screen breakway is experienced under high speed printing conditions (i.e. cylinder presses. very fast print stroke speeds, etc.), the ink viscosity may be reduced. Poor breakaway can also be due to improper screen tension or off contact distance. However, especially under conditions of low temperatures, very large printing areas or high print speeds, the addition of KOLORCURE Thinner 1 or 2 may be required.

CLEAR COATINGS: For viscosity reductions due to individual application conditions, KOLORCURE Thinner 1 or 2 may be used.

COLD WORK AREAS: Kolorcure Screen inks are supplied for use at normal working temperatures (65-95° F, 18-35° C). Kolorcure UV screen inks' viscosities will; however, vary with temperature, (viscosity increases as temperature decreases). While these inks will return to workable viscosities when temperature is again increased, it may be desirable to add Kolorcure Thinner 1 or 2 during the cold weather portion of the year if the screening area is not well heated.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Stir up to 10 percent KOLORCURE Thinner 1 or 2 as needed to reduce the ink or coating viscosity. If in doubt as to amount to add or its suitability for a particular Kolorcure screen ink or coating, contact your Northwest Graphic Supply Co. representative.
