A drawing pencil is a black lead pencil. What makes a drawing pencil special, is that it is made in a wide variety of degrees, or hardnesses. These degrees are also carefully controlled to insure accurate steps between degrees, and uniformity from batch to batch. Most manufacturers also use special combinations of clay and graphite not available in their general use pencils.
The Kimberly® features extra dense, non-porous leads that result in extra long, durable points. They are then "carbo-welded" to the wood. Points withstand four times normal pressure and produce lines of high opacity. Finished in lustrous green and gold leaf stamped. Available from 8B through 7H plus HB & F. 12 per box.
