USES: 600 Series Process Inks can be used for four color process screen printing. 600 Series should be printed on light backgrounds only. Excalibur Process Inks have a very soft hand feel.
FINISH: Cures to a very soft-hand finish.
TRANSFER PRINTING METHOD:: Use 600SS colors. Always start by pre-shrinking the paper. Print the entire image area of the transfer with a 905/908PF Clear Transfer Base through a 110-230/inch mesh. After gelling the Clear Coat at 240°F-260°F for 30-60 seconds, proceed to print the 600SS Process Colors through fine mesh 230-350/inch. Process colors will gel at the same temperature as the 905/908PF Clear. The ink colors are printed and cured one at a time. Testing should always be done before beginning a production run.
OPACITY: Transparent
DRYING TIME: Plastisol inks will not air dry. They must be heat cured. 600 Series inks will fully cure and withstand repeated washings when the entire ink deposit reaches 310°F. Light colors may require longer periods to obtain this temperature.
SCREEN FABRIC: Use 60-110 monofilament polyester depending on the substrate for direct prints, 60-80 mesh for transfers.
SQUEEGEE: Medium Durometer (70) for direct prints. For transfers, use Medium to Hard Durometer (70-80) for 600 Series Process Colors; Medium Durometer (70) for 905/908PF Clear Base.
SCREEN COATING, FILM, BLOCKOUT: Use water soluble hand-cut, photo screens and blockouts with this ink or use other suitable products. A thick stencil or up to 200 microns is recommended.
MODIFIERS: A small amount of 502 curable reducer (1 to 3%) can be used to reduce opacity and soften hand. For direct prints, any amount of 501 reducer can be used to increase softness.
WASHUP: T-125 mineral spirits, or biodegradable washes SYS-2500, SYS-2550 or SYS-2510 screen wash gel.
